ZConcious — Privacy Policy

Overview

ZConcious ("Brain Assistant") is a personal productivity and mindfulness application. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — used for authentication (login, password reset)
• Name (optional) — used to personalize your experience
• Password — stored securely using industry-standard hashing (never stored in plain text)
• Terms acceptance record — the timestamp and version of the Terms of Service you accepted at signup, kept for legal and compliance purposes

When you use the app, the following data is stored to enable cross-device sync:

• Tasks — task names, descriptions, due dates, priorities, and recurrence settings
• Journal entries — text you write during the morning ritual reflection step
• Focus areas — the mindfulness topics you select (e.g., confidence, calm, focus)
• Ritual state — whether you completed or skipped your daily ritual, and your daily intention
• Completed task history — a log of tasks you mark as done
• Audio preferences — your mute/unmute setting

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Provide and personalize the ZConcious app experience
• Sync your data across your devices (phone, desktop, tablet)
• Authenticate your identity when you sign in

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than delivering the app's core functionality to you.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides:

• PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS infrastructure
• Encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL)
• Row Level Security ensuring you can only access your own data
• SOC 2 Type II compliant infrastructure

Your data is also cached locally on your device (using browser or app local storage) so the app remains usable when your connection drops and so changes sync back to the cloud once connectivity returns.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose your personal data to any third parties. Your data stays between you and the ZConcious service.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — view all data stored about you (visible within the app)
• Delete — request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Export — your data is accessible through the app's archive feature
• Rectify — update or correct your data at any time through the app

Children's Privacy

ZConcious is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Terms of Service

Your use of ZConcious is also governed by our Terms of Service, which includes important health disclosures. ZConcious is not a medical service and is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
